Project Objectives

With a lack of talent in distributing video games overseas, particularly in the indie game sector, the aim of this project is to create a curriculum that applies throughout the industry, whereby game distributors and developers can both learn practical knowledge. The project will also develop global game distribution talent covering the main target markets of the United States, Europe, and China.

Project Approach

The project aims to develop practical skills and knowledge for international markets while building professional networks within the global game industry through lectures by leading professionals active in international markets, hands-on guidance at overseas events, and collaborative store sales as practical sales training, with a focus on the three main game markets of North America, Europe, and China. Video game studio leaders and producers will be assigned to the overseas video game talent development program to learn at the forefront of the video game business overseas.

International Game Developers Association Japan

International Game Developers Association Japan (IGDA Japan) is a regional branch of IGDA, an international non-profit organization, and is one of the organization’s largest chapters globally. IGDA Japan strives to improve the careers and lives of video game publishers and developers by offering a wide range of initiatives, including report sessions on the Game Developers Conference (GDC), which is one of the world’s largest game developer events, as well as holding seminars and providing a scholarship system for game developer events organized with private foundations.
