Dialogue on Art and Technology
【IKKAC】
Project Objectives
This project aims to build an objective contextual framework and present concepts that define standards of value, as well as to develop experts who promote commentary and discussion, in order for the sustainable growth of the art and technology sectors. With media artist Masaki Fujihata serving as Executive Director and by collaborating with specialist institutions of the same field, including Yamaguchi Center for Arts and Media (YCAM), Sapporo International Art Festival 2027, and Brooklyn Experimental Art Foundation (BEAF), the project aims to build a practical and international education framework.
Project Approach
The project will hold an eight-part lecture series called “Art & Technology Concept Development,” whereby attendees study broad themes across media, technology, art, and philosophy that are essential to this concept framework development. The program will also welcome participants of diverse expertise — including entrepreneurs, new business development professionals, and researchers selected through a screening process — and will deliver an educational program that utilizes exhibitions held in Japan and abroad as an on-the-job training environment.
