Project Objectives

The orchestra will undertake a concert tour in Europe, providing young musicians and staff—future leaders of the organization—with opportunities to perform and experience European musical culture firsthand. These experiences will be reflected in their daily activities, helping cultivate the skills and resilience necessary to sustain the orchestra’s future. Through this initiative, the orchestra also aims to build and maintain relationships with the European music industry, enhance the global presence of Japanese orchestras, and promote Japanese culture by showcasing works by Japanese composers.

Project Approach

In fall 2024, this initiative’s first European tour in 10 years nurtured young musicians and staff. By receiving direct feedback in the heartland of Western classical music, it raised artistic standards and global recognition, increasing attention on Japan’s orchestras. From the second year, young performers will collaborate with top international leaders. The activities will be recorded and shared worldwide in English.
