Project Objectives

The project supports multiple creators with a proven track record in Japan and the potential for international activities, aiming to develop their ability to operate independently overseas. In addition to artists, the program also encompasses technical staff, producers, and critics who support the creative process, thereby strengthening the foundation of Japan’s Performing Arts to meet global standards. The program’s process and outcomes will be published and shared online as collective knowledge, contributing to the enhancement of a foundational knowledge base.

Project Approach

The training program is based on four pillars:
(1) capacity building (expert-led lectures, hands‑on practice, etc.),
(2) networking (site visits to international festivals, joining global platforms, etc.),
(3) overseas performances, and
(4) PR, marketing, and archiving.
It develops skills, networks, and infrastructure for international expansion, enabling overseas tours and co-productions. The project also partners with media to share reports while sharing the insights and know‑how gained on the project website.
