JUMP: Global Collaboration Program for Emerging Artists and Curators from Japan
National Museum of Art
Project Objectives
The JUMP program aims to empower emerging Japanese artists and curators to prosper internationally. It supports the creation of new works and exhibitions at museums abroad. The program provides participants with practical experience in international collaborations. Through the development sustainable networks with museums both in and outside of Japan, JUMP fosters the next generation of talent to thrive globally and to contribute to the advancement of Japan's contemporary art on the world stage.
Project Approach
With the cooperation of museums in Lisbon, Los Angeles, and Sydney, three teams of artists and curators will engage in research and creation, then present their exhibition with the partner museums. These works will be exhibited at each partner museum and later shown in Yamaguchi, Kochi, and Shiga in Japan. To share the insights gained through this program, the process will be shared online, along with a publication as a reference for anyone working in the arts on an international scale.
