Project Objectives

The project will develop an international training program that focuses on the education, information exchange, discussion, and employment of cinematographers under the two themes of “cinematic art” and “communication.” Development candidates will be young film cinematographers working professionally in Japan and cinematographers with intermediate or advanced knowledge and proficiency who can compete internationally. This project will support the unearthing, development, and further improvement of world-class talent.

Project Approach

The project will hold a master class in Japan, inviting overseas cinematographers responsible for media content distributed worldwide. The following year, participants will attend an overseas masterclass and receive education while gradually advancing internationally. The ultimate goal is to improve the technical capabilities, leadership, and communication of project participants and for them to be involved in overseas productions. It is also expected that a sustainable cycle will be created as participants contribute to the next-generation education in Japan.
