Project Objectives

In collaboration with various organizations in the film and animation industries, this initiative supports young Japanese creators from a long-term perspective. The goal is to increase their opportunities to participate in international film markets and submit works to major festivals, thereby nurturing individuals who can succeed on the global stage.

Project Approach

Under the umbrella of Film Frontier, three training programs, (1) Global Networking Program (UNIJAPAN), (2) Residency Program (VIPO), (3) Feature Anime Creators in Progress (UNIJAPAN), will nurture emerging creators, such as directors, producers, screenwriters, and animators. All programs support project development and global outreach tailored to each creator’s goals.

UNIJAPAN

UNIJAPAN is a public interest incorporated foundation that organizes the Tokyo International Film Festival and the content market TIFFCOM, while also promoting Japanese audiovisual works internationally. In addition to global outreach, the organization is committed to discovering and fostering emerging talent, thereby contributing to the advancement of Japan’s visual culture and the expansion of international friendship and cultural exchange.
