The exhibition “Skin and Viscera: Self, World, and Time”, co-organized with the Tainan Art Museum and held from October 3, 2025, concluded on January 18, 2026, attracting approximately 88,700 visitors.

Using the narrative of Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End—specifically, the protagonist’s journey after defeating the Demon King—as a metaphor, this exhibition introduced the works of ten female artists who explore modes of being and ways of engaging with the world through sensations of skin and viscera. The exhibition featured ten women artists—Mariko Kobayashi, Michiko Sago, Rui Sasaki, Mayu Nakata, Ritsue Mishima, Sayaka Miyata, Yoca Muta, Akari Yamashita, Aki Rusu, and Yui Wata. It presented an inquiry into the self and the reconfiguration of relationships with others and the “world to come,” through which a craft-based approach opened new horizons for communication and dialogue.

In addition, the exhibition’s curator, Yuji Akimoto (Artistic Director of GO FOR KOGEI), received the “Best Curator of the Year” award at the 19th CANS Asia Contemporary Art Awards, underscoring the strong response the exhibition garnered.
